Grab your puffy coats; Fall is here in Central Oregon.
Fall brings crisp, cooler weather coupled with typically blue skies and sunny days. The changing of the season brings gorgeous Fall colors pretty much anywhere you look. Folks around town are now wearing puffy coats and beanies out of necessity (and not just as part of the Bend ‘uniform’).
Fall Fun: Pumpkins + Festivities
Fall activities around town include the annual Bend Fall Festival taking place downtown from October 6-8: All the traditions that you love about this event will be there, pumpkin carving, Gourmet Food and Wine, a Harvest Market, outstanding music and food.
For a great day out, take a trip out to Terrebonne to visit the Central Oregon pumpkin patches at DD Ranch or Smith Rock Ranch, both slated to open on September 30th. Both pumpkin patches are about a 45 minute drive from Bend, and trust us, the gorgeous Smith Rock views make that drive well worth it.
To really fall into Fall in Bend, when the leaves start to fall, head downtown to Drake Park where we guarantee you’ll feel like a kid again when you dive into the piles of leaves. A famed spot for seasonal family photos this time of year, this park is perfect to stroll through with a nice warm drink in hand as you admire the Fall colors.
And the best part of Fall (according to most Bendites); the mountain snowfall and countdown to opening day at Mt. Bachelor has begun!
