Bend, Oregon is often referred to as Beertown, USA
Bend is among the best cities for beer drinkers, famous for its delicious and local craft beers and boasts over 22 breweries in town, with over 31 throughout the Central Oregon region.
As we spring into warmer weather and look ahead to (hopefully) resuming summer festivals, including Bend Brewfest, we can’t think of a better way to wrap up a day of outdoor adventures, support local businesses, and embrace Bend’s moniker, than with a cold local brew in hand.
Here are 3 ways to enjoy local craft beer and support our breweries and pubs in Bend, Oregon:
1. Hit the trail
Trek the largest beer trail in the west, the Bend Ale Trail
If you’ve never experienced the Bend Ale Trail, this is a great chance to visit a brewery or two or five that you may not have tried.
Founded in 2010 with only 6 breweries, the Bend Ale Trail was the first Ale Trail in the West and only second in the nation. Today, it proudly includes 22 breweries and spans from Sunriver to Sisters to Redmond and, of course, Bend.
Some say it’s the pure mountain water that makes our beer so tasty. Others say it’s the spirit of exploration and curiosity in our brewers who are always looking for new ways to innovate all those hoppy IPAs and malty porters. What we know for sure is how lucky we are to have this blissful beervana right here in Bend’s backyard.
