October rocks in Central Oregon

Pumpkin patch bend oregon

October is the official start of Fall, and in Bend that means two things: puffy coats and pumpkin everything.

(Okay, so puffy coats are in season all year long, but this time of year they’re considered less of a fashion statement and more of a necessity.)

To get your pumpkin fix, we highly suggest driving out to Terrebonne to visit either the DD Ranch or The Central Oregon Pumpkin Co. at Smith Rock Ranch.

DD Ranch:

  • Activities include: Pony Rides, Petting Zoo, Kids Corral, Hay Maze, DD Dirt Express, Hay Ride, Body Boopers, Air Guns, Cowboy Arcade, and Clubhouse.
  • Perfect for good old fashioned family fun!

Smith Rock Ranch:

  • Activities include: Zoo Train, Wagon Rides, Pumpkin Cannon, Animal House, Archery, Pony Rides, Barnyard Golf, Live Music, and the always popular giant Corn Maize (this year’s theme is Batman).
  • Perfect for kids of all ages!

Both pumpkin patches are about a 45 minute drive from Bend, and trust us, the gorgeous Smith Rock views make that drive well worth it.

But, if you’d rather stay a little closer to home, you can enjoy gorgeous Fall colors pretty much anywhere you look.

To really fall into Fall in Bend, head downtown to Drake Park where we guarantee you’ll feel like a kid again when you dive into the piles of leaves. A famed spot for seasonal family photos this time of year, this park is perfect to stroll through with a nice warm drink in hand as you admire the Fall colors. (And we highly suggest you wear that puffy coat too.)
