A little bit more about me….Family, Cycling, and Community

After launching very promising careers in the Seattle area, my wife and best friend, Alanna McGlone, and I decided to take a risk and leave Washington State and raise a family in an outdoor town where we could enjoy our passions for cycling, skiing, running, and exploring the outdoors. We had spent countless days exploring Central Oregon’s mountains and trails over the last 15 years and decided this would be the area we wanted to call home. In 2010, only 4 months after our wedding day, we left our jobs and started our new journey.

Spending most of our time on two wheels is a great way to explore a town and connect with community, especially in Central Oregon. Over the past 5 years we’ve become intimately familiar with our area and the active lifestyle amenities it has to offer and now have a rooted foundation in the active lifestyle of Central Oregon.

Community involvement and philanthropy are extremely important to me. Several years back I began riding with Boneyard Cycling, a great diverse group of passionate cyclists with a mission focused on volunteerism in the local community. Two years ago with the help of this team I founded The Bend Bike Swap, an annual event where residents can consign and sell new and used bike parts and accessories as a fundraiser for cycling related local nonprofit organizations. This past year the event raised over $5500 for Mount Bachelor Sports Education Foundation and Bend Endurance Academy youth cycling programs. I feel lucky to be a part of such a great team and look forward to the future success of this event and what it can provide to Central Oregon.
